Hmm, I didn’t write this entry the next morning as usual and I can’t remember everything. I did work outside, but I’m not sure what I did.
I do know, for sure, that I finished the second sock. In anticipation of my new sewing machine coming soon, I wanted to finish this up so I can concentrate on my machine for a few days. I still have to weave in the ends but it is completely knit. I’m very excited to have them to wear this coming Winter. I tried the chimney method or closing the end of the sock. I really like the look, however, I used a yarn that is not very tightly twisted for the chimney. This meant I had a lot of trouble taking the chimney off once I had done the Kitchener stitch closing. Just a little warning, use a non-fuzzy, tightly twisted yarn so you don’t accidentally split it or even catch a little of it in one of the stitches. It was a bear to get out!
I already have my next needle project picked out and the materials purchased. I’m going to crochet a bag that has an ethnic looking design. It is the Andes Sunrise pattern by Drops Design. Unfortunately, I cannot get the yarn it calls for, so I’m trying Paintbox Yarn. I’m just not a mauve or dusty rose kind of person so I changed the color scheme to something more fitting to my taste. I’m using Misty Grey for the off white, Marine Blue for the old pink, Washed Teal for the mauve, and Peach Orange for the mustard. I think it will give me a pretty summery color bag, reminiscent of the beach.
